Art Camp in the Mining Exchange

8 Lydiard St North, Ballarat

Gilt 10-02/11/2018

Box Ironbark Sticks, 22 karrat gold leaf, acrylic size.

From the 1850’s diggers seeking gold quite literally turned Wadawurrrung land upside down. The aim of Gilt is to return gold plundered from the Earth back to Upside Down Country. Forest Keegel invites people to join her in gilding twigs and sticks with 22 Karat Gold Leaf. Over the course of a week a golden arbour will be created with the sticks in the Mining Exchange. After BOAA they will be returned to mullock heaps and mining devastated waterways in the bush.
